A very competitive 12 boat fleet of 2.4 Metres competed in the first of four CANAM Series events on the June 14/15 weekend at National Yacht Club.
Boats from as far away as Florida and British Columbia saw two perfect days of racing in moderate easterly breezes.
Principle Race Officer John Kitchener and his hard-working Race Committee team set excellent starting lines and courses in the shifting winds.
Special thanks to all the volunteers and particularly to Darrell Suderman, Heather Aitken, and Trish Doyle for spear-heading the on and off-water activities.
First place went to Bruce Millar of Victoria,B.C., with NYC’s Allan Leibel and Darrell Suderman taking 2nd and 3rd respectively.
