The Victoria 2.4mR Fleet is gearing up for its last event of 2025.

The David Bleakney Ice Bowl will be held on Dec. 28th, 2025.  Eight sailors are already committed to attend and more are expected.  The weather is particularly changeable on the west coast at this time of year.  However, the organizing committee asked the weather gods to provide excellent conditions for the racing.  See photo  One thing is for sure:- no matter what the weather, the racing will be intense.  Find the results here.

In the evening, fleet members will enjoy a festive dinner in the RVicYC Clubhouse, award the Trophy and celebrate all our successes of the 2025 season.

2025 Regatta Report

The Ice Bowl Regatta was started by the late David Bleakney to get together during the otherwise quiet racing season and as an excuse for a fleet dinner. Heavy rain and storms cleared just in time for the December 28 regatta, which featured six sailors, including two guests: the Club’s Racing Fleet Chair and the Vice Commodore, both of whom competed in the event. Close and competitive racing took place in shifty winds, with the Race Committee effectively supported by the use of two robotic marks.

Additional fleet members joined the evening dinner at the Club, where the year’s activities were reviewed and plans for the 2026 season discussed. Highlights include preparations for the Canadian Championship (September 11–14) and the North American Championship (September 15–19), both to be hosted by the Royal Victoria Yacht Club.
